Fishing Report
Fishing has been up and down this week along with the weather. If we get
one stable day the fish go good. When we get fronts every day the fish are
on and off, on and off like a light switch. It still hasn't been bad
fishing we are just a little spoiled this year. Walleyes are still shallow
and the perch are both. Westill have a few openings for this winter so
don't Wait to long.

Well we had a cold front and it
pushed us to 20 inches of ice. We had one day hiccup with the cold front
and back to catching fish. These photos at two day fishing for these guys.
They no how to work a jig. Lindy flyers on old shorelines for the walleyes
and mud flats for the Perch. Lake Ervin has been the best but it takes a
lot of holes to get on them but when you do this is what you get. GET OUT

Fishing Report
Well we are on the back side of the full moon and fishing is picking up.
We only had a couple guys out the last few days due to a group coming in a
week early last year. One good thing about having a few days off we got
out and scout fished and found some new perch and walleye spots. Jigging
lindy flyers tipped with minnow heads are working best for perch and
walleye this week. Lake Ervin seems to be the place to fish this winter.
For those of you that don't know the area lake Ervin is connected to
Devils Lake. Walleyes seem to be biting every place you go you just have
to weed through the little ones. We still have a few
openings yet this winter with some of the best yet to come. GO

Fishing Report
We I said I would go Tuesday and Tuesday turned into Wednesday Morning. A
buddy and I had our 10 walleyes in two hours. We lost a couple nice ones
and tossed back a couple dinks. The ones we kept where 14 to 20 inches. We
where fishing tip-ups tipped with fathead minnow. We also jigged Lindy
rattling flyers tipped with a minnow head. We had a good 5 inches of Ice
here on the west end. Looks like we have some colder weather coming in at
the end of the week so we will be taking the wheelers out. It's looks to
be setting up for a great ice fishing season. If you are interested in a

11/28/2011 Fishing Report
Well the west and North ND of the lake is frozen over. Sunday I walked out
about 3 hundred yards and had 6 inches of ice. So I'm going to scratch the
itch on Tue. afternoon and go ice fishing. We do not have any snow yet,
Thank God as some of you know the last two winters have been a mess with
all the snow fall. But if mother nature deals those cards to us again we
are ready for it. We still have two sets of tracks for our trucks and one
set for my crew cab ranger. I will post another report after the first
time out ice fishing.
Thanks

Fishing Report
Well we had one of those
awesome falls the weather was mild, the fishing and hunting was good. We
are finally seeing that big push of Mallards with the cold weather this
last week. Of course its late and we have no customers in at this time.
I'm hopeing that mother nature is going to give us a break this winter on
the snow fall. I have heard two reports. One is for a average snow fall
and the other is double what we normally get. Time will tell. We are
starting to get a little ice on the back bays of the lake and all the
small sloughs are frozen up. If your thinking of a trip out this winter I
would get on the ball we are about 50% booked so dont procrastinate. I'll
keep you posted on the ice conditions.

Fishing Report
Well the fall fishing has been
really really good. It seems like the fish are every place you go. Deep,
shallow and in between. Trolling lead core on road beds. casting shore
lines. pulling spinners in 8 to 12 foot of water. slip bobber fishing. You
name it and you can catch fish. This will be our last week of open water
fishing. We switch over to waterfowl hunting. If you still want to get out
fishing this fall let me know i know a couple good guides in the area that
i could hook you up with. |
|
7/20/2011
Fishing ReportHot Hot Hot,
Hot temps and hot fishing. 80 walleyes per day are not uncommon right now.
Youll have to catch that many to get 15 keepers but what fun. Pulling
spinners in 12 to 15 ft. of water seem to be best. Gold,Perch and minnow
patterns have been best. The bobber bite on the west end (flats) has been
really good around that 13 ft. range. Leeches and crawlers have been best.
Keep your lines tight |
|
6/22/2011
Fishing ReportIs summer ever
going to come? Looks like maybe this weekend. Fishing has been up and down
along with the weather. When we have wind casting Lindy shadlings along
the shore lines is working best. When it calms down bobber fishing in 12
foot of water or less is the ticket. I heard of some people starting get
fish on the golden Hyw pulling spinners. One nice thing about this cool
June the fishing will be good in July and Aug.
Keep your lines tight |
|
5/29/2011
Fishing ReportWell the
fishing has been good over all. If and when we get sun the fishing has
been unbeatable. Most of the fish are between 18 and 24 inches. Casting
plastics into the shallows is working the best. Crank baits are working
good in the afternoons when the water warms up. Next week the fishing
should really get good with the temps warming up. |
|
|
5/10/2011 Fishing Report Depending on where you are located on the lake depends on if the walleyes
are spawning, spawned out or still hard. We had our first guide trip of
the open water season two days ago and it went well. We boated 12
walleyes, 1 perch and 1 pike. All the walleyes had spawn in them. we
released 5 fish over 24 inches and the biggest at 27 inches. So it was a
fun filled afternoon. I would guess that these fish will be spawning in
the next five days. Current areas are the place to be now. Just pitch jigs
tipped with minnows or leaches and you'll do just fine. Early mornings and
late afternoons pith rocky shorelines and road beds. We do still have a
few openings this season so give us a call. |

03/06/2011 Fishing Report
Hopefully the
term come in like a lion and leave like a lamb
is true. Our March has started out cold. The
fishing on the other hand has been hot the last
three day. Limits of Perch have been on the
menu. The last three days it's taken 3 to 4
hours to get our limits, wow what fun I just
hope it holds. Walleye action has been hit and
miss. Some mornings are good and some just flat
out suck. The pike fishing has been great. I had
an old boy from Iowa get a 38 incher the other
day. Well we have a ton of Ice and little snow
to deal with so we should be fishing into April
so there is still time to book a trip.
Good fishing. |
|
|
02/15/2011 Fishing Report
Finally we got some warmer weather, in the upper 30's and even hit 40 two
days now. It knocked some of our snow down to make travel a little easier
these days. This weekend it's going to cool down a little bit and should
stiffen the slush up. The Perch Fishing has been the most consistent bite
we have had. on a average day we been getting 15 to 30 perch. Walleyes
have been like a light switch on and off with no really good bites lately.
The Pike fishing is starting to heat up up to this point it's been a slow
go for them but it's looking good now. Keep you lines tight. We still have
a little room in March if your looking at doing some ice fishing yet this
winter. |
|
 01/25/2011 Fishing Report
Fishing is Up and down along with the weather. Front after front after
front along with the full moon has made fishing spotty this last week. We
are getting a lot of walleyes in deep water. You have to sort to get a
good catch of eaters. The Perch are also hit and miss here one day gone
the next. We do have two Suburbans on tracks and one Polaris Ranger on
tracks so the snow isn't the issue. We have to pick and choose the areas
we fish due to cracks and slush. Slush is no fun with tracks freezing up
and breaking things. One thing with all the snow is I have not seen
another fisherman in a week so we have no pressure this year. Well I
better get back to fishing. Be Safe. |

12/09/2010 Fishing Report
Hey guys hope you
guys had a good fall. Well we have 10 to 13
inches of ice on the west end of the lake and
about 10 inches of snow. Walleye"s are biting
really good in the early A.M. and late P.M. Most
the fish are coming in 6 to 10 ft. of water.
Jigging spoons like the Lindy Flyer's are
working well tipped with minnow heads. Tip-Ups
with a #10 treble hook tipped with a minnow is
working well also.
We do have some openings yet this winter if your
interested, and a great Dec. special if you can
make.

Hot Hot! The temps are hot along with the
fishing. The new Lindy spinners are still number one on our guided trips.
We are using the two hook harness tipped with 3/4's of a crawler. The best
depth seem to be 10 to 12 foot of water along road beads and weed edges.
For the best results we are using 1 1/2 oz bottom bouncers with the new
Lindy spinners. Colors that work best for me is Perch, Blue Gill and
Fathead minnow. Speed seems to be key at 1.2 to 1.4 MPH/ Fishing the first
four hours and the last four hours of the day seems best. You will also
run into Pike and White bass while pulling these spinners. KEEP YOUR LINES

Feldner wins final Western Division qualifier wire-to-wire
Devils Lake Domination
By Brett Carlson - 31.Jul.2010
Pro
Jason Feldner (right) and co-angler Don Karlgaard caught a five-fish limit
Saturday weighing 15 pounds, 13 ounces. Each won their respective
divisions. (Photo by Brett Carlson)
By Brett Carlson - 31.Jul.2010
DEVILS LAKE, N.D. – As a full time guide, Jason Feldner spends over 200
days a year on Devils Lake, his favorite body of water. To say he’s in
tune with its seasonal walleye migration is a severe understatement. But
when the ice finally receded on Devils this spring, even he struggled with
the high-water conditions.
After coming up empty in his traditional
honeyholes, Feldner finally gave up and began treating Devils as a new
body of water. Some of his favorite trees had been ripped away by the ice
and other productive areas suddenly had an additional five feet of water
on them. It took some time, but the Minnewaukan, N.D., native finally
figured it out. He started putting his clients on good fish and then a few
months later the FLW Walleye Tour rolled into town.
Most of the Tour pros started practice by
returning to their favorite trees. Just like Feldner and other locals
learned months earlier, this is a different Devils Lake. The bobber bite
was off altogether and the crankbait bite was just so-so.
Feldner was dialed in from the start. On day one he caught a limit
weighing 17 pounds, 15 ounces – taking over a lead he would never
relinquish. Days two and three were more difficult, but he still managed
sizeable stringers – 15-2 and 15-13 to be precise.
“I was pulling Lindy spinners in Pelican Lake in 9 to 12 feet of water,”
said Feldner. “The blades I’m using just came out at ICAST a few weeks
ago. Bluegill, perch and fathead minnow were my main three patterns.
Fathead minnow was better in the sun and perch and bluegill were good when
it was cloudy.”
Earlier
in the week, Feldner also mixed in the new Lindy Shadling, but on the
final day all of his keepers came on the spinners. Behind those blades was
a two-hook crawler harness.
“I was fishing the bottom of the water column and trolling at
approximately 1 to 1.5 mph.”
The bite was slow early Saturday. In fact, Feldner’s first two spots, the
same areas that produced nearly all of his opening-round weight, were void
of fish.
“We had nothing in the livewell at 11 a.m. Then we moved to our third
spot, a spot I’d been saving for the finals, and finally we found active
fish. We had one 400- to 500-yard stretch where we caught all eight. At
about noon, the big kicker hit. In those two hours, I bet we caught 20 or
so. Once they turn on, they turn on. And you’ve got to be in the right
place at the right time.”
With the addition of optional pot money the 37-year-old earned $17,750.

04/26/2010 Fishing Report
What an early spring. Last year at this time
we still had ice on the lake. This year the Walleyes are just about done
spawning in most areas. Fishing is starting to heat up. The current areas
are still producing fish. Areas like the coulee bridges, six mile bay and
where ever there is running water. Leeches seemed to be the anglers choice
along with jigs tipped with plastics. Now that the docks are in at the
boat ramp in Minnewaukan we are see more boats out ad about. Guys are
catching fish pitching jigs along old Hyw 281 and any place that has rocks
on the shore line. Again leeches and jigs with plastic are the key. Old
hyw 281 is closed to truck traffic but you are allowed to walk, bike or
take your ATV down them. there is a little water on top of the road, but
for the people that put the rubber boots on and venture out are catching
pike and walleye. With this early and warm spring are fishing is a good
two weeks ahead. I would bet in the next 8 to 10 days the fishing will be
second to none.

04/02/2010 Fishing Report
Well I think the grip of winter is now
departing us. We had our first claps of thunder this morning. As I look at
the rain gauge it says about an inch. That should do it for the ice
fishing. The shorelines are about done unless you want to plank out. My
phone has been ringing off the hook. Are you guys flooded? I heard the
town is under water? Do we still have a place to come. Yes we are still
here and no we are not flooded. Yes we are getting a bit more water than
last year. But not as much as they said so I think we will be fine for
another year. So bring smiles and fishing gear and lets have some fun. Now
back to the fishing. I have heard good reports from the few that are out
ice fishing. Six mile bay, mission bay and the maulvee culee areas are
doing good. We do have some run off coming into the lake around the bridge
and culvert areas. Just in the last couple days I have seen some nice eyes
being caught. Most guys are shore fishing or taking little boats out and
putting them in over the rocks. Remember our best shore fishing months are
coming up, end of April and May. We do still have some openings for
Lodging and or guide service.
Thanks to all for a great winter season and we hope to hear from you soon. |

01/09/2010 Fishing Report

FISHING, it's up and down one day we will clobber them and the next day
will just plain stink. Most of our walleyes are coming in that ten foot
range. Tip-ups tipped with minnows and jigging spoons with rattles are
working well. The key to catching big numbers of walleyes is moving allot
during peak feeding times, A.M. and P.M. The mid day bite is slow and
boring so if you get on the fish in the morning they should reappear in
the late afternoon. Check out the fish these buddy's caught on our last
guided trip. There was 14 of us and we limited out both days. WOW what a
day. we still have a few opening's for the winter so quit wish'n go fish'n.

Report
We had our first group of 7 guys out today (12-28-2009) and the fishing
was good for the big weather change we had. The water is a little dirty on
the west end and the fish are responding to it. When we get dirty water
the fish seem to bite during the day versus the first and last our of the
day. Walleyes like it dark, but when the sun isn't out it's pitch dark
down there. So with a lake with no night bite you can see why the fish are
feeding during the day. Back to the catch we ended up with 25 Walleyes, 7
Perch and a couple pike to go with them. Check out the pictures below of a
couple dandy's that we released, A 24 incher and a 28 incher.
